The girls had some fun with water on Sunday. They had a little tea party & got all soaked before the mosquitos got to them.

Big Girl Hair

So, I couldn't help but get a little teary when we took Stella for her first hair cut. She's always telling me, "I'm not a baby anymore, Mom, I'm a big girl!" but somehow cutting off that baby hair really hit me. She's growing up so fast & I just love the kid she is. But, I miss her as my baby.

Waiting to get started

Of course, of all the chairs available, she wanted the red motorcycle!

She was great at sitting still

The finished look!

Carrie

When I was a little girl, Carrie was one of my very best friends. I loved her so much! She moved away in the middle of high school and we pretty well lost touch for about 20 years. Last year we reconnected on Facebook and last week, she came to visit us in Charlotte. We had a great time together and the kids all loved her. For the two of us, it was as though time hadn't passed by at all. It was great to see my friend. :)

Compare and Contrast

Here's all the monkeys at approximately the same age. Who looks most alike? Who is most different? They're all super cute... :)

7 months old

Our little fish was 7 months old on Sunday. (Why have we nicknamed him "Fish"? Take a good look at the above picture and tell me it doesn't look like a trout or a bass...) Here he is showing off one of his new tricks--sitting! He's getting pretty good at that now, but has been scooting all over for the last couple weeks. We're at the point we have to go looking for him sometimes now. He likes to crawl under the piano for some reason. :) This last month, Davis has been eating a lot and getting chunky as a result. New foods are: yogurt, bananas, sweet potatoes, peas, squash, apples, pears, green beans, avocados, mangoes, apricots, carrots, prunes. He has liked everything except for the peas and the avocados. He continues to be a really happy guy and so friendly. He really loves people. He definitely recognizes familiar people and gets so excited when he sees his Daddy. He really likes to stand while you hold his hands and do this hip-shake thing. He looks a little like a hula-dancer doll when he does it. This cracks Jordan up, which makes Davis dance even more. He also rocks on his hands and knees when you put him in that position. Davis has an affection for sucking on shoes which is nasty, but has gotten us to keep our shoes put away more! We are having a lot of fun with him and are so glad that he's part of our family.

Another shameless plug

I posted a while back about my friend Amie's company, Wild Olive Tees. They are doing another giveaway for their new kids' shirts (and I really, really want to win). BUT, I also know that many of you readers are people of faith and I want to share again about what they are doing. They make sassy, inspirational t-shirts AND share their profits with those in need. Currently, their charity is Love Without Boundaries. Having just spent a long weekend of fun with my two sisters who were adopted from China (pictures soon!), this reminds me of how special the work they are doing is. So, if you are curious, take a peek at Wild Olive Tees. They've just introduced a kids' line, and have some new gorgeous womens' shirts since I last posted.
