Stella has had a lot on her mind lately...

Pretty Girl (& stats update)

Stella is getting so big and fun lately. She has a really pretty smile. We are really happy she is ours.

As to doctor's updates, the girls had their 4 month & 3 year checkups last Friday. Both were healthy and well; neither liked the shots. Stella was 13 lbs., 7.5 oz (50th percentile), 24 inches (50th percentile), and head circumference 43.2 cm (95th percentile)...(another big head, like her sis). They were impressed by her development so far.

Jordan was 33 lbs. (75-90th percentile), and 38.5 inches (75-90th percentile). She also passed her vision test, which was a relief to us, if you know anything about how Jamie & I both see! Glasses are, no doubt, a part of her future, but we didn't want it to be at age three!

WordPlay Festival

On Saturday, Jordan & I went to a festival put on by our library system. It was one where each booth is about a different place/culture. Among the things we did, here are shots of african mask making and japanese fish kite construction. It was good fun!

Bumbo

Stella has jumped on the Bumbo Seat bandwagon. They are all the rage with the "under one" set.

Asheville

A few weekends ago, we took the girls to Asheville to see the fall colors. While the leaves hadn't done much turning yet, we still enjoyed the beauty of the Appalachian Mountains and the funkiness of Asheville. We took a hike near Mt. Mitchell and ate at a yummy Mediterranean restaurant (where the pic of Stella was taken).

Skills!

Here is Stella showing off one of the skills mentioned in the previous post. This skill makes mom & dad very happy!

4 Month Update

We can't really believe it, but Stella was four months old yesterday! Here she is in her pretty dress. This month she has perfected a lot of skills including smiling, rolling from her back to belly, making a "ggg" sound, and pushing up while on her belly. She is starting to help hold her bottle and grabs at her toys. She also likes to suck on her fingers to soothe herself. She's very vocal and likes it when you respond to her. She eats 4-5 oz. per feeding and sleeps sometimes for 4 to 5 hours at a stretch. She prefers to sleep on her belly, which we let her do for naps. She finished her first month of school and her teachers all think she is pretty special. She's getting a lot better at not being held all the time, but still likes to cuddle. Her hair is long enough now that we don't get the mohawk much anymore, but she is still cute. She thinks her big sister is pretty great. They like to play together on the floor and Jordan gets so excited when Stella learns something new. We go for a doctor's visit in a few weeks so I'll get you the stats then.

Great-Grandparents

Great-Grandpa Harry & Grandma Arliene are in town this week. Here are pictures from dinner last night at the Cheesecake Factory. We're glad they are here!

Festival in the Park

New Cousin

Panthers Fan 4.0

Even though Jordan is only 2, she's starting her 4th season as a Panthers fan (click here for the 2005 season). Here she is sporting her newest Panthers gear. As soon as she put it on, she instructed me to get the camera & take a picture, because, she said, "I'm cute!"
