Jordan's most recent obsession is with shoes. "Shews" is ususally the first word out of her little mouth each time she wakes up these days. She has learned to take off her own shoes, so we spend a good part of the day putting her shoes back on, only to have her remove them again and bring them to us saying, "Oh no! Shoes!" (meaning put them back on so we can do it again!). She also loves to wear other people's shoes, pictured here.

sidewalk chalk

A favorite activity these days is drawing with sidewalk chalk. Jordan's canvas is our patio/porch area. She likes to make lines and say "J-O." We are not so proud of her that we actually think she is spelling, but it is what she says over & over when she is drawing. The other thing she likes to do is find an unfortunate ant, who she draws over with a bold stroke or two, sending the ant to a quick and colorful end. Its fairly cruel. ;)p.s. JoJo is one of her nicknames and what she calls herself.

zippers and more!
One of Jordan's favorite things lately is zippers. Zippers on her coat, zippers on your coat, zippers on pillows...here she is working the zipper on a lunchbox. We know that we have been delinquent in posting lately. However, Jordan has been pretty much refusing to pose for any pictures lately, so we end up with a lot of closed eyes, turned heads, etc. Let us know if you want to see any of those award winning shots. :)
Since we last posted, Jordan turned 1 1/2, had her 18 month check up, and survived her last shots until age 4. She was 25 lbs. 12 oz. and doing well. Her ears were given the all clear (yeah!). She is talking a lot (new words include "help," "birds," "night-night," "truck," and several animal sounds). Yesterday while Jamie was napping she insisted on standing outside our bedroom door saying "He seeping" (sleeping) over & over. She also continues to love her slide and teasing the dogs. She is refusing to eat most everything but cheese, applesauce, greenbeans, and yogurt. The pediatrician says this is fine. If she says so... :)

fun with Gramms

Jordan had a blast this weekend with her Gramms! These first two pics are from our trip to the Lazy 5 Ranch. While there we saw lots of animals...rhinos, buffalo, emus, potbellied pigs. The one that really scared Jordan, however, was the calf...she started crying and shaking when she heard it moo. In her defense, it was pretty loud. Jordan loved being with her Gramms and misses her!

my new "wee"
I found this "Little Tykes" slide at a consignment store for four bucks. It was awesome. Jordan was so busy playing with that she just got furious with me when I tried to get her off it so that I could pay for it. I got the "look" from all these older women in the store that judged my mothering skills in a matter of moments. Oh well. Like I said, I got the thing for four bucks--they can judge me all they want! :)At any rate, Jordan loves to slide on it. She asks for it by saying "wee" which is what she likes to say as she slides down. Very cute. Here she is after a quick slide while singing the Wheels on the Bus verse where the Mamas say "shh-shh-shh." That is her favorite verse. We have no idea why. :)

17 months old & some random pictures
Jordan is 17 months old today. Her latest tricks include learning lots of new words (diaper, 1, 2, 3, car), playing chase with the mom & dad, throwing a ball for the dogs, pointing out lots of birds, and eating really well with a spoon and toddler fork. Daddy got her a little ride-in car, so we've been doing a lot of cruising the neighborhood in the sporty new ride. She keeps her hands on the wheel except to wave at any admirers passing by.
Here are a couple photos that we've taken recently. One in the bathtub, one where she fell asleep in the middle of dinner & we thought it was really cute.

Ugh!

Jordan has been battling a stomach bug the last several days. This picture is of her laughing with Daddy when she started to have fun again yesterday. However, it seemed to be a momentary reprive, as the yuckies were back again this morning. I took her into the doctor to check out the stomach virus, only to find out that she has, guess what, an ear infection, too! We took it up a notch & went with the antibiotic shot. She was a champ & only cried for a few minutes. But if you are a praying person, please pray for her recovery & for no more ear infections!! I'll let you know how she is doing soon.

Drama Queen
What, pray tell, is the reason for such a sad face? Moments before this photo, I so rudely removed Jordan's precious beads so that she could take a nap. She resorted to standing in her crib & screaming "BEADS" at the top of her lungs. I found it so funny that I had to take pictures of it! :)
Here she is just moments later, after she realized the camera was involved.
We got good news today at the Pediatrician that Jordan's ears look all cleared up, so hopefully we are done with the ear infections for the year! The Dr. said it was a good sign that they were looking so good. Thanks for all the prayers and inquiries about them!
