Locks of Love donation

Jordan participated in a drive her school does each year to help people suffering with cancer. Kids grow their hair long and then donate it so that prosthetic hair pieces (wigs) can be made from it. She gave up 10 inches and it was all her decision to participate. We are so proud of her. Isn't she a beauty, inside and out?

The very hungry caterpillar

If you spend much time with little kids at all, you've probably read this book by Eric Carle, The Very Hungry Caterpillar. If not, here's a short synopsis...caterpillar emerges from an egg and spends a week eating his way through various fruits...Monday, he eats one apple, Tuesday, two oranges, etc., until he gets to Saturday where the caterpillar binges on sweets and processed meats. This leaves him with a stomach ache right before he spins himself into a cocoon and emerges as a butterfly. Cute book.

Stella has taken to "reading" books to Davis. The other day she read to him about the hungry caterpillar. As she neared the end of the story, I heard..."Sunday he ate a nice green leaf and he felt better. THEN, he ate a RACCOON... and it turned him into a butterfly!!"

So, the details are a little off. I can't blame her logic. That caterpillar seems like he'd eat anything... :)

Sock Hop @ Preschool

We had a sock hop at the preschool for Valentine's Day. The girls wore skirts we embellished with pink poodles and cardigans and pony tails. Stella was eager to show off her dance moves...the twist, the swim, and the smashed potato. Davis pretty much stayed at the snack table. :)

Henderson Thanksgiving

We went to Michigan for Thanksgiving...the usual Henderson Family gathering. There was so much going on that I hardly remembered to pull out my camera. Here are a few shots from some of the fun.

Happy 6th Birthday, Jordan Lily!

Our sweet girl is six! We celebrated today with a Princess Luncheon with her girl friends from school. On the menu were: cranberry scones, star and heart shaped finger sandwiches, herbed potato soup, sparking lemonade, and yogurt parfaits for dessert. It was absolutely gorgeous today, so we were able to eat and play outside.

At six, Jordan continues to be an energetic, loving girl who wants to be a ballerina when she grows up. (She also wants to be a mommy and a doctor, but after she's a ballerina). She still loves pink & purple, princesses, fairies, and mermaids. She loves being in Kindergarten and is reading at a 4th grade level! Jordan is a great big sister and she takes care of Davis & Stella so well. She's passionate about art and quite a good sketcher. She also loves to practice her headstands so we've started calling her our little bat, since she is always upside down.

Happy Birthday, Jordan Lily! We love you so much!

Festival in the Park 2010

A couple weeks ago we went to the annual Festival in the Park. The kids had a lot of fun. Everyone rode the ferris wheel and train. Jordan got to ride another ride after the babiesfell asleep in the double stroller. :)
