quick update

we've fallen behind on our posts again, but wanted to share that Jordan is sick with another cold/ear infection. :P we are tired of that news! anyway, dr. ryan is optimistic that with the change of seasons, these infections will clear up. we hope so!

and just for fun, here's a silly shot from the other morning. yes, she needs a haircut, but her bangs are almost grown enough to put behind her ears!

Before small group the other night, Ken & Jordan were making forts on the sofa. Here are a few shots from the fun. As you can see, Jordan really enjoyed herself!

Here is Jordan & Daddy! Jordan is sporting her new "jammies" that are covered in ducks. Jordan really likes them 'cause she is very into ducks. She likes to sit & point to all the ducks on the legs & say "duck, duck, duck, duck." We aren't really sure where the fascination with ducks came from, but she is crazy about anything with a bill!

Many Fridays, Jordan enjoys lunch with several friends from small group at a little place called Lupie's. It's a Charlotte favorite, with their famous vegetable plate (which we all get with the most delicious macaroni & cheese). So what if mac & cheese isn't technically a vegetable?! Jordan thinks its yummy! Here she is today in the parking lot with two of her favorite friends, Kenneth & Laura.

Rub a dub dub

Lately, Jordan has decided that she actually likes bath time. So much so, in fact, that if you ask her... say, in the kitchen... "do you want to take a bath?"... you may just find her 60 seconds later actually IN the bath tub, ready to go. Well, almost ready - except for the whole taking off the clothes part. Perhaps soon we will be able to say, "do you want to clean up your toys?" or "do you want to go down for a nap?" and get a similar response. There's always hope...

guess what?

well, you were just thinking...it's been about a month since Jordan had an ear infection, weren't you. well, after several nights of none of us getting any sleep and no new teeth popping up, we decided it was at least worth a trip in to the pediatrician. and, yep, the lilybean has another ear infection. this time there was no fever or green guck and by all other measures, she is just fine. we are on another round of antibiotics, doing our best to contribute to the super-germ. ;)

this was taken while helping some friends move on saturday. jordan has mastered the cheesy "smile for the camera look," especially when i take pictures with my phone (which this one was). she was so good during the move and really wanted to "help."

Here is Jordan with our friend Laura. Jordan has developed a fascination with shoes and shortly before this pic, found her way into daddy's work boots. Perhaps she has a future career as a circus clown. :)

Happy Chinese New Year!

Jordan celebrated the Chinese New Year by wearing her red Chinese outfit to church and listening to the several thousand firecrackers that have been going off in our neighborhood today. :) [We live right across from the city's largest Asian market.] Amazingly, she was able to nap right through them!

Some of Jordan's new tricks include learning the signs for cat, milk, and movie. She is also repeating some new words. She has a new fondness for her babydolls and likes to feed them and pat them. It is very cute. She loves her bath time, too, especially when she gets to turn on the jacuzzi jets. But her favorite toys are her puzzles, which she is really very good at!

Reading Books

Have you noticed that we have fallen behind on our blogging again? Well, one reason for that is that we have been reading "Goodnight, Gorilla" and "Hand, Hand, Fingers, Thumb" over and over...and over...and over.

Jordan has really gotten into books lately. She likes to read by herself and have us read to her. She likes to point out pictures of ducks (says "quack") and dogs (says "doggie") and signs "fish."

Another thing that she is doing all the time is the motion for "Itsy Bitsy Spider." She pinches her fingers together like the spider then says "t-see" until we sing it.

Does anyone know any other kids songs? ;)
